lighted lady, eyes undone, oracular spectacular
lashes shading, tried to run, feathered in your scapular

your yawning wings, beata lux, your whitest cloth so fine
your gilded form, your curse so warm, conviction ever thine

the falcon’s form in serpent green a radiant, emerald jewel
the malleable dreams of sainted souls turn hearts to kind from cruel

most cherished clarity, benevolent charity, chose to veil your sight
the vision of an earthly world abhorred and turned to night

now blood in radiant array adorns the snowy skin
the orbs of lucid Lucy with her palms are one-fourth in

Herod's Daughter

Herod’s daughter moves as water
told to dance to glance to pry
melting quarrels viscous morals
who’s to blame for such a lie?

young and charming made alarming
crime though this time was not hers
heads on platters teeth a-chatter
swooning girl they used you sure.

and round and round and round and round
the placid rolling eyes inflate
the guilty quick asseverate
twas hers not ours no not our hate
and yet no stratagems equate
a misused girl a prophet late
the gnashing heads of men confound.

Candy Man

These pleasures stain the glass of a past
Past recognition; trespassing whims
of petty peevish things

We weep, wring hands crinkled with
Lost cares, the clandestine
Candy man who sprinkled

Sugar on our starlight,
Contoured every craving,
Murmured every raving,
Purred into our dark nights

Lasted through the pearling passes
Of all things sweet,
To see the candy man once more!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_750/htra155-vv209.jpg
